If the person is a non resident, he must also produce –
- a duly signed and authenticated bank reference from that person’s bank or a notary certifying and confirming the duration of the business relationship and that the accounts of the said person at that bank have been maintained in a satisfactory manner. The document should clearly mention the name, address and profession of the client.
Costs
As a buyer of property in Mauritius you will face the following legal costs:
Notary fees are calculated as follows:
- 2% on the first Rs 250 000.
- 1.5% on the next Rs 500 000.
- 1% on the next Rs 1 000 000.
- 0.5 % on the remaining sum
In addition, there is the VAT which is 15%, as well as different expenses which vary from one notary to another.
